Taking a break from posting about heavy things. I wrote this poem a few nights ago. I was coming back home late and staring up the night sky, I thought of you.

Betelgeuse

If I were to use the stars to navigate
I wouldn’t follow Sirius
But rather Betelgeuse

I’m not sure why this star
It’s not the one that shines the brightest
Nor does it even point north

Maybe it’s because of all the stars
It’s the one I can easily find
Because to me it’s red
Or perhaps because it’s name
Keeps getting funnier every time I see it.

Or maybe, just maybe, it’s pointing
Not polar
But homeward
For when I look up at it
I can feel you gazing with me
